The Core

“The recognition of our core energy unifies the self, allowing us to perceive the oneness within the universe.”

The feeling of I (Self) is always accompanied by energy, which forms the core of all beings. This core is present in all and feeling of I in all is the proof of it. Poetically, this profound connection is expressed through the representations of Shiva as the Self and Parvathi as the energy (Shakti). This concept is symbolized by the iconic figure of “Ardha Narishwara” - half man and half woman. It also signifies the interplay between masculine (self) and feminine energy. It is widely understood that, regardless of gender, every individual possesses both masculine and feminine energies. However, because of ignorance, the mind often cannot recognize this core energy and mistakenly perceives the feeling of I as the body (false ego) and thus sees many selves or individuals. But when the mind awakens to this realization (aware of core energy), it perceives only one self as only one core energy pervading all and consequently views the entire universe as one being.

“The celestial dance shapes our earthly energy, though its influence remains a beautiful mystery.”

As we all know, celestial objects, regardless of their distance, have an impact on the energy in the Universe. Consequently, the energy on Earth is also affected by the various movements of celestial objects, irrespective of our awareness. While our understanding of the influence of nearby planets on Earth’s energy levels is not perfect, we possess some knowledge of the subject. However, it is essential to acknowledge that this impact is highly subjective, varying based on individual factors, such as body composition and mental maturity. Although we cannot establish any definitive rules, it is an undeniable fact that energy levels on Earth are indeed affected.

Even though we see all of us have different bodies and those bodies as boundaries, from a scientific perspective, there are no such boundaries. Same core energy flows through all of us. When there is an increase in core energy, it affects everyone, yet interpreting this phenomenon differs in each person’s mind. For instance, consider a scenario where I, as a scientist deeply engaged in research, experience this heightened energy flow. It may cause more innovative ideas. Similarly, if I were a cook, I would discover better cooking techniques. Conversely, if I were a robber, it could trigger more inventive thoughts related to robbery. Moreover, if I were torn between good and bad deeds, with a slight inclination towards good, this surge in energy would amplify that inclination. Alternatively, if I were a romantic person, it would inspire me with more romantic ideas. Even a lazy individual might experience a newfound activeness, serving as a catalyst in transforming them into an active person. However, for someone who is excessively stubborn, this spark would create no impact. Our will power** is always there to override this generic behavior.

The vice versa is also true: when there is a dip in the energy levels, it can make us feel a little dull. It s like how same electricity powers different machines resulting in different outputs, same core energy can manifest in different ways depending on the mind it flows through. However, there is one significant difference–electricity doesn’t possess the sense of self, whereas our energy does. Until the mind recognizes the self within that core energy, it operates like a machine, solely focused on its own perspective, seeing itself as the Self (false ego). In other words, individuals work from a selfish perspective, much like machines function independently regardless of their surroundings. This continues until the mind acknowledges the core energy and Self in that. At that point, the mind observes only one Self as only one core energy flows through all and thus perceives the entire universe as one being, leading to the emergence of higher thoughts and the birth (or transformation) of extraordinary personalities like Krishna, Jesus, Mohammed, and many more.

“The power of our will knows no bounds, capable of infusing limitless energy into our endeavors.”

**Our will power is always there to override this generic behavior, as it has the ability to infuse any amount of energy. The core (Self + energy) is present in all individuals, and it is the same for everyone. It has the capacity to generate any amount of energy as it is the energy fueling all galaxies. The only requirement to tap into this energy is our will to do something.

For instance, if I have the will to construct a villa in the sky, there would be no doubt that I could accomplish it. In such a situation, respective energies would be instantaneously generated by the core and energetically passed to your mind. However, it takes time for the mind to absorb these new energies and convert them into tangible thoughts.

If I were a civil engineer and made the choice to construct a villa in the sky, my mind would easily absorb these new energies. On the other hand, if I were a doctor with the will to construct a villa in the sky, the release of relative energies would occur, but it would take more time for my mind to absorb them and generate thoughts.

One note of caution: when new energies are presented to our mind because of our will, there is a possibility that if the mind lacks the capability to handle such a high amount of energies, mind may divert and result in unnecessary thoughts than constructive thoughts. For instance, imagine that God has appeared before you and granted you boons; this situation can be seen as an analogy for new energies presented to the mind. In such cases, these new energies can either be misused, like Ravana, or appropriately used, like Arjuna. From what I understand, the idea of God appearing and granting boons symbolizes the release of new energies to the mind due to our steadfast and focused will. This steadfast and focused will can be interpreted as “Tapas.”
