Life is all about the transformation of our mind from one state to another and situations around us would help us in achieving that.

Once upon a time humans were also living like animals primarily focusing on food and shelter. Many beings including humans are taking birth, staying for some time, and dying. Nobody would like to die and they could not control it. They felt limited and thought there must be some force doing all this. They don’t understand what it is, and it remains “Unknown”.

This seems to be the one starting point of religion. Some wise man started thinking about something that our senses could not perceive but look to be existing based on their observations. To take this concept to the masses who cannot think much, they have given some name & form to that “Unknown” and started praying it as a God to save them, give them more power, etc..

Similarly, different sects of people living in various parts of this world had a similar experience, and they have given various names & form to the same “Unknown”

In effect, many Gods have come into existence even though the underlying substance is only one. From the point of that “Unknown”, all are taking refuge in one. But from the point of names & forms, they are all taking refuge to many Gods.

As time passes by, a person with average intelligence got attached to the names & forms inherited from their ancestors ignoring the underlying force. As time passes by, along with the average person, religious leaders also have forgotten the underlying force and started attaching to the names & forms. They started seeing names & forms as Gods instead of underlying one force. Eventually, they have forgotten the underlying force which is uniting all these forms & names. Sticking to various names & forms split the society into many religions and eventually caused conflicts among them. These conflicts led to wars and forceful religious conversions.

Even with this amount of violence, millions of deaths, constant fear, Gods (names & forms) they believe in never come to rescue. Gods (names & forms) only caused violence but never led to peace in history. This is clearly giving clues to entire humanity that there is something wrong in their perception of God suggesting the need to go beyond the names & forms and looks for something which can unite all.
