In the morning, I had a dream that I entered a haunted house. Instead of feeling frightened or trying to overpower the negative energies, I embraced them with love. Surprisingly, the devil in the house became my best friend. I would like to share some thoughts that were running through my mind when I contemplated that dream.

In my opinion, haunted homes are places where a certain kind of energy influences our thought process upon entering. Alternatively, it is possible that there is nothing particularly extraordinary about these homes, but our belief in something being there alters our thinking, causing our minds to conjure up all the fantasies we have heard in the past about devils. In essence, I believe that it is a shift in our minds, either influenced by the overpowering energy present or self-created.

Let’s talk about the mind before talking about dealing with haunted houses. The mind is a collection of all knowledge acquired since birth and influenced by various external factors, such as the society we are surrounded by, the education system we have gone through, and the religious beliefs that have been enforced upon us. Furthermore, the state of our physical health also has an impact on our mind. To illustrate this, one can observe the difference in their mind when they are sick versus when they are in good health. Additionally, the mind is influenced by the general environment, as the positions of planets and celestial objects can impact the energy and vibrations present in the atmosphere. These energetic influences, although subtle, can have a significant impact on an individual’s thoughts, emotions, and overall state of mind. I would like to emphasize that the energy surrounding us does indeed impact the mind.

By operating solely from the level of the mind, you tend to drift with the situations rather than having control over them. The key to gaining control lies in transcending the mind and being able to observe the mind.

As you meditate, remember yourself as consciousness beyond mind and body and reach a state of observing the mind rather than becoming immersed in it. Once you enter the haunted house in this heightened state, you would observe that energy there is creating ripples in your mind, resulting in various emotions and feelings. If you identify yourself as one with the mind, you will find yourself being thrown into every nook and cranny, as the uncontrolled energy influences your thoughts. However, if you rise above the mind, you can simply observe these emotions, answer them, and tame them. It’s akin to sitting above a wild horse, which may behave in an uncontrolled manner and create difficulties. But with skill, you can domesticate it. The true skill lies not in overpowering the horse to show your strength or ego, but in consciously including it as a part of you and giving it the confidence that it is safe with you. In a similar manner, we must embrace the wild energies within the haunted house, or the devil, as a part of ourselves. By feeling love towards these energies, the path automatically opens up to harmonize those energies. This approach is dynamic and adapts to the situation, ultimately transforming the energies into a friend, just as we befriend a wild horse after domesticating it.

Appendix:

In fact, even this Earth is like a haunted house if you are not alert. I mean, not conscious of yourself beyond mind.

Operating solely from the level of mind severely restricts our freedom and prevents us from leaving a meaningful impact on our lives. It is akin to embarking on a roller coaster ride, where we are taken through various twists and turns, offering both pleasant and thrilling experiences, yet lacking any control. Throughout our lives, it often feels as though events unfold without our consent or control - from our birth and the naming of our bodies, to the imposition of religious beliefs, education, employment, marriage, running a family, retiring, and ultimately, the death of our bodies. We are merely passengers, experiencing these stages and events with no control as if on a roller coaster. It is by going above the mind (observer state), you can actually thrive instead of just drifting by external environment.
