I used to have a longing to fly like birds, effortlessly gliding through the sky with grace and freedom. However, as I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, I had a profound realization - I am already flying, but not in the literal sense. This realization runs much deeper and is more profound. When I take a step back and let go of my ego, I see that there is only one true self in the entire universe, and that self is me.
This self serves as a platform for diverse individuals, creating an environment where a multitude of unique experiences can be had. It’s like your consciousness is the platform upon which the various characters of your dream perform. In other words, the same self dwells in all bodies, experiencing diversified experiences through diversified bodies.
When my mind truly grasps this truth and recognizes the concept of the self, I realize that I am that self. Before this realization, my mind falsely assumed itself as the Self within the limited scope of a body it caters to. However, once I feel myself as that one Self, I am able to feel what a bird experiences during its flight and feel the experiences of every creature experiencing through their bodies. It’s similar to how a mother can feel the joy of her child’s laughter. This profound connection, this oneness, fills me with a sense of joy and also with responsibility.
I feel responsible with all the ways I am interacting with the environment as I dwell in all and I can continue to feel the diversified experiences through diversified bodies only when the environment is sustained. In other words, I am doing all this care for myself as only I exist in all irrespective of the mind in those forms recognizes me.
Rather than focusing on developing technology to fly like birds, consider nurturing your heart to feel the same sense of joy and freedom that birds experience. Just as a mother feels joy by witnessing her child’s laughter, you too can find joy by feeling the experience other beings are having.
